Evaluator, BRAINS; Associate Director, UW CERSE
I am the external evaluator for the BRAINS project and the Associate Director of the University of Washington (UW) Center for Evaluation & Research for STEM Equity (CERSE). I am a sociologist by training and use qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods in my work. My current work focuses on efforts to improve equity in the STEM fields. I have also published research articles related to the carceral system and neighborhoods, as well as a city-commissioned report about housing policy in Seattle. I have instructed a variety of undergraduate courses at UW, including statistics, research practicums, sociology of education, and sociology of housing. I am driven by my hope for a more just society and seek to help build that.
