Monica Santisteban

Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Assistant Professor of Medicine

I am a neuroscientist specializing in neuroimmune and neurovascular physiology. My research interests focus on the mechanisms of the neurovascular dysfunction and cognitive impairment produced by hypertension, a leading risk factor for stroke and dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. The goal of my research is to make discoveries that will advance our understanding of the deleterious impact of hypertension on cognitive function and brain health.
