Kenny M. Roman, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Roman obtained a B.S. in Chemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed his PhD at the Ohio State University in Integrated Biomedical Science. His current work seeks to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms in the PNS and CNS that drive chronic visceral pain in mouse models of chronic prostatitis and endometriosis. The overall goal of his laboratory is to build collaborations to generate non-addictive therapeutics that alleviate chronic pain and subsequently improve quality-of-life.
